Todays Blog Post:
The world today is on lockdown because of Covid19. Businesses are closed, sporting events shut down, most stores closed, air traffic suspended and we are confined at home.
In Matt. 24, Jesus disciples ask him a very pointed question! They ask him, “Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Matt. 24:3. Jesus then proceeds to give them a long list of signs and events to look for before he comes back, (even before he leaves)! One of the signs he tells them to look for is “pestilences“! The Covid19 virus is a pestilence, and Jesus said to look for “pestilences” – plural! More than one. So we can assume that this might be the first of others. Jesus also told them that all these signs are “are the beginning of sorrows“! We can easily see some of the other signs taking place on the world stage as we speak – wars and rumors of wars, famines (have you noticed the store shelves getting emptied), and earthquakes, which are now happening in greater frequency and intensity!
Some may argue that we have seen these signs happen before many times, over many generations, and they would be correct. So what makes these signs so significant and point to a very soon return of the Lord? In this same chapter of scripture, we find the “Parable of the Fig Tree” which Jesus tells them this, “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled”.
Theologians all seem to be in agreement that the “Fig Tree” in this parable is national Isreal, which became a nation again in 1948, (a tender branch bringing forth it’s leaves) after almost 2000 years on not having a national homeland. This was a prophetic miracle!
So Jesus is saying to his disciples that the generation that sees all these signs that he just got finished telling them to look, for come to pass, will be the generation that sees his return. Scripture tells us that no man, even Jesus, knows the day or the hour of his return. But Jesus did tell us what generation it would be in. This is the tail end of the generation that saw Isreal (the Fig Tree) become a nation again. If this prophecy is true, then we should expect to see all of these signs coming to pass as we speak. We are!
Part of the problem with Covid19 is the financial problems it is causing. In the US alone, the entire economy has been shut down. People cannot go to work and most businesses are closed, and yet our government, which already had a 17 trillion dollar deficit, is spending many more trillions of dollars to subsidize the economy. This is pushing our economy to the point of financial collapse. Our government is aware of this and is pushing to open the country before the virus is eliminated. Most of their experts are predicting that the virus will reemerge again next Fall. Compound all of this by most other nations of the world, and the whole world is heading toward financial collapse. The Bible points towards a global financial collapse in the Last Days. These are amazing prophetic times we are living in!
Speaking about pestilences, there is a huge plague of locusts that are destroying everything in their path throughout Africa, and are not moving towards the Middle east. You will not find much about this in the media.
Locust plagues bring famine, and this seems to be gaining in size and scope. As I mentioned earlier, we can expect other forms of pestilences.
Most churches do not teach about End Time events, and here is an interesting article about why –https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfmrecent_news_id=3982&fbclid=IwAR17ThQDRPfCnG-ELLioHdcVuZgf86hAfwAguqFrZm_rVpoIb89iJCsJIHo
